This is an improved version of our A Little Piece of Wilderness
cache. Recent development in the area had made getting to that
cache relatively simple, and it did not fit its name anymore. We've
now created a multi-cache that takes you along a beautiful walk
through the park in a manner more fitting our original intent. This
is certainly a more difficult cache, but it is also much more
beautiful. Every season will provide different scenery to admire.
(Different challenges as well!)
*** December 15, 2005--This cache may not be winter-friendly as it
has smaller parts that are not easy to find with snow. *** August
21, 2005 -- We've reworked the cache locations and the waypoints to
take you through the same areas, but in a slightly different way.
If you've previously found and logged the cache, you may do so
again if you wish. We also feel this new version is
Winter-Friendly. ***
The starting point is Christa McAuliffe Park on Green Bay's east
side. Park at N 44* 29.748 W 87* 55.549. The walk to the cache is
about two miles along established hiking and biking trails. We
anticipate it will take most people about an hour and a half to
complete. The route winds through forests and fields, up, over, and
around glacial features. There are four steps leading to the cache,
and coordinates to a bonus cache are inside the cache. We've
utilized an array of waypoint types, but all would be considered
small. IMPORTANT!!! There are trails to get you there! They are
often windy, but they are will get you there. No bushwacking should
be required! All the locactions are just off the trail and should
not require any bushwacking. Please stay on the trails.
