The Siskiyou Crest offers fantastic panoramic views of both Oregon and California.
This is a nice short hike from the "Meridian Overlook" parking area. There's a trail just off the ridge that you hike on for about a third of a mile (PCT). Then you leave the trail to head up to Siskiyou Peak. Cache is along the way, but not all the way to the top.
The cache is well hidden, but should not be too hard to find. Its in a rubbermaid container, and also in a plastic bag. Log in and trade a trinket - glow sticks, key chains, and stars to start with.
If you continue on up to the peak, its just over half mile, in all. I recommend you go the extra leg - just to say you've climbed it. The ridge steepens after the cache, but its not far to the top, on a short rock scramble. Siskiyou Peak measures in at just under 7,000 feet.
Late spring through fall is a great time to tour the Crest, before the snow flies.
This may be a fairly accessible cross country ski cache in mid winter for an adventurous and skilled back country skier.
