Cache is near Loviisa nuclear power plant. The plant can be seen
clearly on a reasonable weather. Terrain is easier with a good
map.
Ensimmäinen kätköni. Piilotettu varsin kohtalaisessa lumisateessa, mutta hauskaa oli.
Kätkö on kalliolla Loviisan ydinvoimalan lähisaaressa. Edes kohtalaisella säällä näkyvyys voimalalle on hyvä. Samoin ympäröivään saaristoon, eli paikka on itsessäänkin näkemisen arvoinen. Kätkö on helppo löytää, jopa talvisaikaan. Jos lunta on yli metrin, niin homma menee kyllä pirulliseksi. Maaston vaikeus riippuu valitsemastasi reitistä. Jos et pidä kohtuuttomista maastohaasteista, varustaudu peruskartalla ja auttavalla kartanlukutaidolla.
Kätkö on Curverin pakasterasia ja se on näkyvissä jonkin verran, kunhan seisot oikealla paikalla. Muussa tapauksessa kalliot suojaavat sen kohtuullisen hyvin. Lumi voi tietenkin peittää rasian näkyvistä, joten ilman koodattua vihjettä maastoon ei kannata lähteä. Vihjeen kanssa homma on helppoa vaikka kätkön päällä hieman irtolunta olisikin.
Alkuperäinen sisältö on teddykarhu, vanha logitechin 3 nappinen rullahiiri (minun tietääkseni toimiva) ja lounasseteli. Tavarat on pakattu yksittäin minigrip pusseihin, joten kosteusvaurioita ei pitäisi syntyä kovin helposti. Toivoisin kuitenkin, että joku sijoittaisi lokikirjan pussiin sellaisen Silican geelipussin, koska lumisateessa avattaessa vihko kastuu hieman.
Kätkön englanninkielisessä nimessä oleva kirjoitusvirhe on tarkoituksellinen. Kyseessä on kuitti erään hyvin tunnetun maan presidentille, joka teki täsmälleen saman virheen puhuessaan ydinaseista :)
My first cache. Hidden in somewhat dense snowfall, but it was fun.
The cache is on open rock in an island near Loviisa nuclear power plant. On a reasonable weather the power plant can be clearly seen. You can also see the surrounding islands, so the place is worth a visit in itself. The cache is easy to find, even in winter. If there's over a meter of snow, it'll get difficult, though. Difficulty of the terrain depends heavily on your route. If you don't like difficult terrain, you should have a good map and some skill at using it.
The cache is a Curver freezer box and part of it is visible when you're standing at the right place. Otherwise the rock hides it quite well. Snow can of course cover the box, so you should have the crypted hint with you. With the hint the cache is easy to find even if it's covered.
Original contents are a teddybear, old Logitech 3 button mouse and a lunch voucher. The items are packaged separately in minigrip bags, so they shouldn't be damaged by water. It would be nice if somebody would put one of those Silica gel bags in the logbook bag, since it gets a bit wet when opened in snowfall.
The spelling mistake in the english name for the cache is there on purpose. President of a certain well known country made the very same mistake when talking about nuclear weapons.
