Cache involves a hike over fairly even terrain for about .3 to .4 miles, followed by a walk down some stairs.
Ledge View Nature Center is home to many interesting features, but the one feature that most draws visitors from nearby counties is its caves. The caves were discovered only recently, and have since been excavated one bucket of mud at a time.
Ledge View offers tours from mid-April through mid-November, shutting down during the coldest months to protect the health of the bats that use them for hibernation. Repeated disturbances during hibernation can actually kill a bat.
You don't have to sleep the winter away to catch the Z's here. Just look for the camo-covered pill bottle hiding near the Bat Cave.
Tours cost a couple bucks a person, when offered, but don't need to be joined in order to locate this cache.
