This is a cache that was originally named "State Line #2 N.Mtn Trl Geocache" and was placed by Wordfried in 2004. It's an excellent cache and location that RgrRick adopted in May 2014 and that I adopted in 2019.
It is named for the Great North Mountain that separates Virginia and West Virginia and the North Mountain Trail that runs along the ridge and boundary line between the two states. Seekers will enjoy views East and West of both states.
Follow the orange-blazed trail South from the radio towers. The cache is about 3/4 mile from the radio tower gate parking and is located just off the trail. Not a long hike, relatively flat with some minor rocky sections.
