The cache is well hidden in an ammo box. Lots of goodies like: one
gold dollar, digital stick-on clock, key fobs, spice assort., Orion
lite stick, bug spray, compass, new-tech glass and dusting cloths,
and a digital tire gauge. First ones to find it get their pick! The
trek to the cache is in open woods. Easier to use the upper parking
lot--besides, there you can go up a 96-step tower with a 360 degree
view and see WI, IA, and IL.
There are other hiking trails in the park if you're interested.
Also .5 mile away to the West is Wisconsin's first state capitol.
Est. in 1836, which was later, in 1838, moved to the present
location of Madison.
Oh, and the Platteville mound, the worlds largest M is only two
miles to the West. Enjoy the view and the cache!!!
09/12/2005 Update: The ammo box has been stolen, so we replaced
it with plastic. Maybe that won't walk off. We've also replenished
it with more goodies. Happy hunting!
04/10/2006 Update: The coordinates have changed--we've moved the
cache to a more discrete hiding spot. The hint is still valid.
