Geocache Description:

This mystery takes you to see the Department of Chemical Technology at HUT campus.

In the initial coordinates, there is a hidden micro container. Inside it you will find a collection of colored jumpers, which represent different elements. You will have to create a molecule out of these elements and then follow the instructions to the next step.

Use the following information to calculate the coordinates of the second stop:

  • A = The number in the green cap of the first container.
The new coordinates are:

N 60° 11.(A + 13)
E 24° 49.(18*A + 10)

Here you will find another micro container with different set of jumpers. With these elements you will get a second molecule that is able to react with the first one. Also, remember to check the following information:

  • B = The number in the green cap of the second container.

To determine the coordinates of the final cache, you will need to calculate the reaction between the two substances. If one unit of either reactant is not sufficient for the reaction to take place, you will have to multiply the amount until the reaction is possible.

The elements are represented as follows:
H = Hydrogen (WHITE)
C = Carbon (BLACK)
N = Nitrogen (BLUE)
O = Oxygen (RED)
F = Iron (BROWN)
S = Sulphur (YELLOW)
Cl = Chlorine (GREEN)
Br = Bromine (ORANGE)
I = Iodine (PURPLE)

When the reaction is complete, you will have two reaction products. The other one is not very interesting, so to determine the final coordinates you will have to answer the following two questions about the more interesting compound:

  • C = The year this compound was first discovered.
  • D = The number of letters in the discoverer's surname.

The final cache is a plastic, ½ liter freezer box and is hidden in:

N 60° 10.(B * (1 + 3*D + C - (6*D + 1)*(6*D - 1)))'
E 24° 49.(C/(D+2) + 5*A)'
