This cache is located off the Fernberg Road which is an extension of Highway 169 North East of Ely, Minnesota. I WILL DELETE ANY SPOILERS (LOGS/PICTURES) THAT INDICATE WHERE THE CACHE IS LOCATED>
Turn left off the Fernberg Road at FIRE NUMBER 939. This is a muti-use trail- ATV, ski, and a canoe portage. On older maps this lake was named STUMP LAKE but newer maps call it STUB LAKE.Park at the first parking area off the Fernberg Road and walk .8 miles to the cache, or if you have a high clearance vehicle, you can drive another .3 miles and park at:N 47 56.214 W 091 42.318.From there follow the brown canoe portage sign to get on the correct trail to the cache(there are several trails). The trail to the cache is rough - you will encounter wet areas, rocks, and tree roots all of which may be hidden in knee high grass- wear appropriate clothing and ankle support boots.With the tree cover, our GSP accuracy was 28 feet.The cache is a 2 qt plastic thermos with trade articles.
