Tämä on Ähtärin ensimmäinen geokätkö, joka sijaitsee Arpaisen kauniissa harjumaisemassa Euroopan kaukovaellusreitin E6 läheisyydessä. Lähtöpaikalta on kävelyä n. 1 km, mutta harju- ja järvimaisemiin kannattaa tutustua. /English/ This is the first cache in Ähtäri. It has been placed in the beautiful surroundings of eskers and lakes. The European long distance path (E6) winds up and down the eskers. Be ready for a walk of about one kilometer.
Reitti alkaa koordinaateista N 62°41.665 ja E 024°23.029 (WP1). Tänne voi myös pysäköidä auton. Jos tulet autolla, niin tänne pääsee parhaiten Myllymäki-Vehu –tieltä. Katso ympärillesi, niin löydät viitan. Viitassa on etäisyyslukema muodossa 0.X . Tästä saat luvun X. Suomen kieltä osaaville tähän liittyy vihje.
Piste 2: N 62°41.650 E 024°22.852 (WP2). Katso ympärillesi. Näet kaksiosaisen kyltin, jonka yläosassa on kuvattu metsää. Laske puiden lukumäärä = Y. (Tunnista puulaji. Tästä tiedosta voi olla myöhemmin hyötyä.) Alemmasta lisäkilvestä laske kaikkien kirjaimien lukumäärä = Z. Voit jo nyt laskea X*Y*Z = A. Lukua A tarvitset loppuvaiheessa.
Piste 3: N 62°41.703 E 024° 22.415 (WP3). Sinun pitäisi nyt olla kämpän ja nuotiopaikan maastossa, josta löydät ’viittakyhäelmän’. Kahdesta viitasta löytyy E6-tunnus ja etäisyyslukemat. Kerro nämä etäisyysluvut keskenään ja saat luvun B.

The start of this route is at N 62°41.665 ja E 024°23.029 (WP1). There is also a place to park your car. It is the best to drive here from the road between Myllymäki and Vehu. Look around and you should see a sign by the path leaving the dirt road. On that sign you should find a distance in the form of 0.X. This is the number X.
WP2: N 62°41.650 E 024°22.852. Look around and you should see two signs on a single pole. Count the number of trees on the upper sign (coniferous forest). This is the number Y. (Try to recognize the species of that tree. This information may be useful later…) Count all the letters on the lower sign. This is the nuber Z. Now you can solve the multiplication X*Y*Z = A. You will need this number A in the final phase.
WP3: N 62°41.703 E 024°22.415. At this moment you should be in close vicinity to a cabin and a camp fire. Almost between them you should find some kind of ’construction’ with many signs pointing in many directions. Two of them are marked with ’E6’ (European long distance path). Multiply the distances (distance1 * distance2) on them and you will get the number B.
