Even tho you're within the Bruce city limits, you'll think you're in the middle of nowhere. This trail is flooded in spots when the river is high, usually just in the springtime. If you start from the south and the first bridge is under water, come back some other time or you can try coming in from the north.
Trailhead south parking is in the SE corner of the dairy plant parking lot at N 45 27.172 W091 15.667. See the Riverwalk sign?
Trailhead north parking is on Chippewa Ave, just past Devine Ave. at N45 28.042 W091 15.385. Look for the Chippewa/Devine road sign on east side of road partially hidden by trees.
North trailhead is a group of ambiguous trails that converge at a point 300 feet SE of the parking area where there is a 100 foot long, walking bridge over a nice wetland. Footbridge is at N45 27.999 W091 15.304.
Stop and look around at N 45 27.875 W 091 15.304 where there has been a LOT of beaver activity recently! Look for the paths where they have been dragging trees across the trail and down to the river. You will even see where they have dropped large wood chips on these paths if you observe carefully.
