To reach the box, after you left the village Szatmárcseke turn to the left (towards Tiszakóród). Cross the river Túr on the bridge then turn to the left. Go through the beach to reach the Barrage. The cache is on the other side of the river. If you want to avoid the beach you will have to turn the left before you go through the bridge. In this case you will not have to cross the river. So this is the better way in winter. Attention! It is not allowed to swim around the Barrage!
We placed our 3rd cache at the Barrage which is at the issue of river Túr and Tisza. When I was a child we spent a lot of time here in summers. This place is ideal for camp, cooking, fishing and bathing when it is allowed. At the right side of river Túr a camp and beach can be found. Unfortunately you must pay for it, so if you want to find the cache from this direction you will have to pay. (Adult: 500HUF, Student: 250HUF, Car: 200HUF). The Barrage can be reached from the left side of the river Túr too. The coordinate of Barrage: N 48° 05,484’ E 22° 40,618’ Alt.: 119m. From here there is a nice view to river Túr and the issue of the two rivers. This place is one of the popular moorages of the oarsmen. The right side of the Tisza is belonging to Ukraine.
The cache itself, which is a traditional one, is not too far from the barrage. You have to cross the river at the barrage and walk up on the left side of the Túr. It can be reached easily. It is hide by an old tree. The coordinate of the cache: N 48° 05,300’ E 22° 40,698’ Alt.: 112m. I note that I have never been here when the altitude of the river was high and in winter. So I am not sure that it can be found that time. The box is consisting of some small figures and souvenirs.
