Geocache Description:

Explore the Source of Milford Creek

If you go to the posted coordinates, you won't find the cache; it's 1.25 miles away. Instead you'll be at the source of Milford Creek. There you will see the "control structure" which sets the level of 5 of the Iowa Great Lakes --- E/W Okoboji, U/L Gar and Minnewashta. (The level of Spirit Lake is set by the spillway at another cache site, Orleans.) In wet years the water will be overflowing the "control structure" into Milford Creek. You might also find some wild geese to chase there, but you won't find the real coordinates for the cache there. You'll find the real coordinates here.

HUH?

So where will you find the real coordinates for this cache? For that, you'll have to explore the source of Milford Creek. But you don't need to go to the source of Milford Creek to do that.

WINTER RATING: No problem except in heavy snow.
