Some say Ne-VAH-da but I say Ne-VAY-da Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

GeoForse: To the Central Iowa Caching Community:

I'm archiving this cache and apologize for the long time it has been gone without proper maintenance. I want to thank those who have offered to take the cache over, particularly team_schnauzer whose efforts, through no fault of his own did not come to fruition.

This was a good cache at one time. I thank all who took the time to find it. Some of the ideas discussed for its possible reactivation may appear in the future in other caches.

This cache was the first cache in the city of Nevada at the time it was established. Since that time, Nevada has gained many caches of a wide variety. I would like to think that this cache, in some small part, helped spur that development.

Again my deepest apologies. I hope to rejoin you in the future.

Happy Caching!!

Geocache Description:

This is a two stage cache located along the Indian Creek Greenbelt Trail. A suggested parking place is located at 42 01.148 093 27.476. This location is near the horse ring in the 4-H park/Billy Sunday Field area of Nevada.

This cache is intended to take you along most of the length of the Indian Creek Greenbelt Trail in Nevada, Iowa. This portion of the trail was opened in Fall, 2002.

The coordinates of the first stage are those given in at the top of this page, N 42.01.056 W 093 27.828. The small container at this location contains the coordinates for the final cache location.

Enjoy your walk along the trail to the final cache! Be sure to take the loop-—it leads to a different view on the way back to your car. Wildlife seen along the trail include fox, beaver, deer, herons, geese, as well as multitude of song birds, particularly in the early morning. The path itself has a multitude of different insects and other creatures, although nothing like the background creatures on this page.

As with all GeoForse Caches, there is a pretty good prize for first finder!
