Geocache Description:

A short hike from the parking area over flat terrain. Altitude is 2400 feet so it should be accessable most of the year.

This is our first cache, located in Rigdon Meadows, off of Rigdon Road (NF-21) about 21 miles from Oakridge, OR., and very close to Sacandaga Campground in the Willamette National Forest.

Rigdon Meadows was the location of a way station operated by Stephen Rigdon from 1871 to 1896. Rigdon and his wife Zilphia provided meals, blacksmith repairs, and sold small items to travelers on the Oregon Central Military Wagon Road. This section of road was built in 1866 and parts of it still exist in good condition.

The fence and small trees around the meadow are intended to keep vehicles off the fragile meadow and to reduce disturbance to wildlife. Your help in reaching these goals would be appreciated.

You are looking for a large plastic, camoflaged jar. Initial contents of the cache are:
