If you heat your home with coal, bring a bucket because you will see lots of it on your adventure. Call it a C.I.C.O.---Cache In Coal Out!!!!!
This area is reclaimed strip mines. There is plenty of hunting at certain times of the year, so be very careful about wearing the proper amount of blaze orange during those times.
Note: This cache is located on Pennsylvania State Gamelands. Please familiarize yourself with all of Pennsylvania's hunting seasons and their respective regulations. During the peak deer season (November 15 - December 15, except Sundays), you must "wear a minimum of 250 square inches of daylight fluorescent orange-colored material on the head, chest and back combined or, in lieu thereof, a hat of the same colored material. The material shall be worn so it is visible in a 360° arc".
I would suggest wearing your best boots and a hiking stick too.
The above coords are for the first micro. Suggested parking coordinates are 40 24.699 080 25.385. There may be a surprise or two along the way!
I am sorry to report that the origional #2, "EEEK!!", (a very real looking rubber rat,) was severely molested by some kind of critter with very sharp teeth. (Maybe even a relative.) I could find only a small piece of him at the crime scene. When you find the new #2, please have a moment of silence for "EEEK" who performed his job so well. The new #2 is tethered to keep him from being dragged off also.
