Geocache Description:

The cache is located in the Yukon Territory on the plateau near Kilometer 38 on the Atlin (Yukon Highway #7) Road on the east side of the road.

The Mount Minto View cache was placed so it can be fairly quickly found by Geocachers on their way to or from Atlin, British Columbia. Mount Minto (Elevation 6913 Feet ASL) is located in northern British Columbia on the west side of Atlin Lake (Elevation 2190 Feet [+or- due varying water levels.] ASL).

Kilometer 38 on the Atlin Road is approximately in the middle of a curve in the road that changes elevation. Visibility along the curve in the road is problematic due to vegetation. Park with CAUTION well off the east side of the road. DO NOT PARK on the Camp Yukon access road located on the west side of the Atlin Road. Please respect the property of others in the area. Should this cache create problems for Camp Yukon road access or property owners in the area this cache will be moved to another location within the Yukon Territory.

The 4X4 road to the east side of the Atlin Road is the easiest way to the cache though geocachers may choose a more direct route through vegetation (There are several horse trails in the area). The road is not difficult to walk up and down. Please stay on the road if you area going to drive up to the cache area.

Leave RVs along the east side of the road. You're not climbing this road in an RV, though it may look inviting. There isn't forty acres to turn an RV around! The 4x4 road consists of loose sand near the bottom, can be driven on in 2 wheel drive or 4High Mode until prior to the loose rock and dirt on a fairly steep angle just before levelling out on the plateau. Keep in mind there's no cellular telephone service in the area and the nearest public telephone is over 40 kilometers away at Jakes Corner, Yukon Territory alongside the Alaska Highway. So, be kind to your ride.

This is the "True North, Strong and Free" and you can disappear in it for a long while before anyone notices you're gone.

The cache is a Rubbermaid style container with clear bottom and green lid with a green Geocaching sticker (Go figure!) affixed to it.

The cache originally contained:
Log book with 2 pencils and 2 sharpeners (To stay with cache, of course)
3 Garrity Bright Super Micro LED Light with Key ring
1 Garrity Fun-tastic Light Stick
1 Redi-Medic Barrier Key ring with gloves
1 Biner Key ring with small compass
2 Emergency blankets for cold gecocachers
1 pair of handwarmers for 1 pair for cold hands
1 AfterBite tube for bug bites picked up on the way to the cache.

Please reseal everything and conceal the cache once you're finished with the cache container.

I worked hard at attempting to get the coordinates for this cache as close as possible. Please let me know what you think of the cache coordinates.

Enjoy the view!
