That's right! It's time for a maintenance run on TMA-1
and I thought it would be fitting to have a post Event at a nice family style
microbrewery in Monterey. We'll have a table set aside, and perhaps the
use of the pool table for a little friendly game of eight ball if things work
out.
Where: Located on the grounds of the Monterey Plaza Hotel, right on
the Monterey Plaza. The best parking is at the Old Fisherman's Wharf pay
lot (couple bucks an hour I believe). Street parking is available, but is
limited on weekends.
When: August 14, 2005 at or around 3:00 p.m.
So What's Up With This TMA-1
Thing: Over the past year or so, I've had a handful of questions about TMA-1
and I thought it would be nice to get a group together to make an ascent up to
the cache for those individuals that either don't have the equipment or the
expertise to do it. I'll be out at the cache site in the morning and if
anyone is interested in either making the ascent, and/or logging it (the logging
requirements are pretty lenient) you can check my notes on the cache description
as for meeting times and parking coordinates (it's about a 1/2 hour drive from
the Event location). There is a new 5 star cache nearby that I WON'T
be doing, but I've heard that The Teacher may be available to give hints for
those individuals that feel it necessary to punish themselves further.
But Wait! There's More.... That's right. In addition to
the good brew, good eats, and the friendly company of some fellow cachers, I
have a handful of White Jeep Travel Bugs to give away. If someone knows a
silly but relatively quick elimination game of pool we could play to raffle
these things off (so to speak) then I'm game for any amusement that someone
comes up with.
