I find this park to be very relaxing, but I doubt that you will if
you go after this cache! With the pretty little Battle Creek
winding its way down the valley, the sandstone bluffs pocked with
caves (Please obey the signs and DO NOT ENTER the caves!), the
three bridges that cross the winding creek, with man-made riffles
adding oxygen to the water and a pleasant gurgling sound to the
ears. You are very likely to see deer and/or wild turkeys as you
seek this cache, particulariy on the final stage.
This is a three stage multi-cache. The first two stages are
pretty sneaky "in-your-face" hides. I think that you'll enjoy them.
The final stage should be very easy for anyone, but will be a good
climb.
Final stage is a 1 gallon plastic jar with painted camo and
contained a rubber chicken which now hangs proudly over Sui
Generis' fireplace. Original contents also include:
- Rubber stamp
- Package of 12" glow sticks
- Obsidian teardrop necklace thing
- Custom "Load Limit" refrigerator magnet
- Teensy-tiny micro container for your next cache
- Other cool stuff
Extreme stealth is not required, but still be careful. Stage #1
could be easily muggled if not replaced exactly as it was.
Note: I tried my best when taking the coordinates, but the
signal was very weak, and yours may be, too. Bring the hints
along in case you need them!
All stages are very close to existing trails. To get to the
final stage, take the trail uphill to the fence, and head north
along the fenceline. Your GPSr won't indicate that.
Overall hike is about 1.25 miles round trip.
Do not leave any valuables in the car! There have been cars
broken into here!
