Just before Wendy and I began geocaching, one of the
Austin-area's prolific cachers abandoned the hobby in favor of
earning her JD. It is in
Texas-Gal's honor that we present a revived iteration of her
famous 80's caches. This cache makes use of similar instructions
present in her hides, but we have added a little spin. It is
considerably more difficult to complete this cache. Call all your
friends of old, this one might require some assistance ...
"You must listen to a series of fifty short clips of very
"well-known" tunes from the 80's, and figure out the artists
who sang that song from the short clip in addition to the song
titles they sang."
For sanity's sake, please comport to the following
rules:
- artists with a preceding "The" in front of their name shall
have the preceding "The" stricken from their name for the purpose
of this puzzle cache. (e.g. "The Clash" will be represented as
"Clash")
- artists should be listed as "Firstname Lastname". (e.g. "John
Lennon" will be represented as "John Lennon", _NOT_ "Lennon,
John")
- any song title beginning with parentheses shall have the text
contained within the parentheses discarded (e.g. a song title of
"(I Think) Filler Rules" would be noted as "Filler Rules"

Now, rearrange those artists into alphabetical order.
Using that alphabetized list, make note of the number given in
parentheses beside each tenth artist (10, 20, 30, 40, 50)
into the latitude coordinates below. (e.g. If Artist #2 is
at the tenth spot of my alphabetized list, I would plug "1" into
the first slot of the latitude coordinates... giving me N 30

Now, rearrange those songs into alphabetical order.
Repeat the above steps, but instead noting each tenth song
(10, 20, 30, 40, 50) into the longitude coordinates
below.

NOTE: the park area in which the cache is located closes at 10
pm, and like most park areas should probably not be visited alone
after dark. During the day, it's A-OK!
