Geocache Description:

A weekend campout, chance to meet your Reviewer and fellow geocachers, and geocaching, all at one of Arkansas' premier parks!

Looks like I will be in the area Thursday night through Monday morning - anyone that wants to get together for geocaching, a cup of coffee or a meal is welcome to call my cell phone, 205-914-6814 24 hours during the 16th-20th period Since you now have my number I will tell you that I am normally available to cacher's calls with issues or questions from 7 a.m. to midnight Central time 7 days a week!

Reservations for rooms or cabins can be made at 800-264-2462
For Campsite Reservations call 501-727-6511

Please remember that if you want to hide a cache in Arkansas State Parks you must go to (visit link) for details and a permit application!

This will be my first chance since becoming the Arkansas Groundspeak Volunteer Reviewer to meet many of you; I hope to see you there!

I will arrive at Mather Lodge Friday night.

Early Saturday I will hide a Poker Run of seven Pocket Caches around the park. Attendees who choose to play will take one card from each of the seven caches (sorry - they'll be in sealed envelopes and numbered, so nobody will know what they draw!); at the meeting players will open the envelopes, discard two cards (providing they find all seven!) and prizes (stocked caches for you to hide!) will be awarded to the best 5-card hands. The Pocket Caches are not loggable and will be removed at the end of the Poker Run.

Saturday morning we will gather in the Restaraunt Conference Room at 8 a.m. for a day of socialization, with a meeting at 2 p.m.

At the meeting we'll recognize outstanding geocachers, discuss the state of geocaching in Arkansas, have a Q&A session regarding listing and maintaining geocaches, review permit and placement policies in the state, and have any other presentations folks want to make.

We'll have the room all day, so folks can come in and out as desire and schedule allow - unlike a regular hour-long Meet & Greet we'll have all day to get to know one another!

Family members that don't geocache can hang out and visit in the meeting room while their geocachers hit some of the nice trail caches in the park.

3 meals will be served in the Mather Lodge Dining Room, so rather than schedule a mass meal folks can eat when they please.

Saturday evening and night we'll do some geocaching, maybe a wagon-train-style cache run to a heavily cache-populated area if that's what folks want to do, or, if the weather allows, gather around a bonfire and relax for a quiet evening together... I am up for anything!

See y'all there!
Ed
