Cache is hidden in an area at/near the end of a loop section of a trail system cared for by the WI. Dept. of Natural Resources. Entrance sign to the park is set back from the road a bit so you have to pay attention when you reach the top of the hill. The trail is mostly flat but some high points along the way. As of 12/17/06 trail is in great shape!
The Coulee Experimental Forest is about 3,000 acres of upland oak forests, experimental tree plantings, ridgetop open fields, rock outcroppings and a few small "goat" prairies on steep topography. The forest was formally dedicated in 1960. The forest is owned by the State of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. I was lucky enough to find this site while hunting so please keep in mind that hunting is allowed as you search the area for the cache. You may want to wear a bit of BLAZE ORANGE or bright colored clothing during the hunting season. As you are standing by the gate near the parking area, head to the left down the hill to the start of the "south loop" trail and go from there. It's about .8 of a mile so it is a bit of a hike, but it's worth it when you reach the end. The cache is a small plastic jar covered with camo tape.
