The Silvery Slocan Heritage Tour is approximately 235kms long. Be
prepared for breath taking senery as you take a step back in time.
The tour will take you through the towns of Nelson, Kalso, New
Denver, as well as through the "Valley of the Ghosts". The loop can
be driven in four hours - with NO CACHING. You MIGHT be able to
find the series of caches in one day but we strongly suggest that
you spend two days as there are so many things to see and do along
the way.
Three Forks,
where three creeks named after three early prospectors Carpenter,
Seaton, and Kane converge. Park in the parking area at N 50 00.651

The
Galena Trail - the historic route of the Nakusp and
Slocan Railway starts just a little farther down the road. It is a
short walk to the cache. The bridge across the creek is old but
safe. You are looking for a typical pirate container.
There are 14 caches that you will need to visit - in any order -
to find
"Silvery Slocan Heritage Tour - Pay
Dirt". At ten of the cache sites you will find a clue
that is written on the first page of the log book as well as on the
lid. Write this clue down. Four of the caches do not have a clue -
but we're not going to tell you which caches those are.
Since this segment is also a standalone cache, you are of course
welcome to just log this cache if you don't have time to take the
complete tour.
