Geocache Description:

This cache is along the riverfront in Sioux City. It's a memorial to those involved in the crash of Flight 232 in July, 1989, in Sioux City.

Park in the adjacent parking lot and come down the concrete sidewalk. Take time to read the plaques on the rocks on the sidewalk. The sidewalk goes around and into an open area featuring a sculpture that has become the symbol of the rescue effort that day. 112 people died in the crash, but 184 lived thanks to the heroic efforts of Captain Al Haynes and his crew. The cache is a magnetic blinkie with just a rolled up strip of paper. Bring your own pen.
