bumanfam: We've really had a lot of fun with this cache, but alas, there are some changes coming to the fairgrounds that will simply require too many reworks on this cache to be worth the effort. We'll pull it and allow for another hide in the area.

A 7 Stage Multi Cache with a Riddle-Based Puzzle
For this cache you will find 6 notes attached to permanent fixtures around the Plymouth County Fairgrounds in LeMars, IA. The answers to riddles at the first 5 stages will help you make a set of coordinates out of the note found at stage 6. That set of coordinates will take you to the final cache, a peanut butter jar filled with things you might find at a fair. All areas have heavy muggle traffic during the fair, and the final is a very busy location at many times year-round.
This cache is placed with the permission of the fair board. While we're not associated with the fair board nor are we trying to promote the fair (the cache is available year-round), we do suggest the fair as a great way to have some fun! If you come to this cache during fair time (last week in July, Wednesday through Sunday - July 28 - August 1, 2010), it will cost you admission. $7 per day per person or $30 for a carload for the week. The rest of the year you can come free, unless there is a special event going on. More information about the fair (including attractions at the grandstand) can be found at www.plymouthcountyfair.org.
Other times of the year this fair ground hosts other events. In December there is a two-weekend Christmas villiage, complete with sleigh rides, Santa, and free food and caroling. It's quite nice! This became a favorite cache for some cachers who stumbled upon this Christmas event! When we placed the cache, there was a wedding reception going on. Any time of the year you will have to be stealthy!
There is a gate located at the parking coordinates listed that it typically unlocked to allow access to storage facilities on the fair grounds. You should be able to park there and walk in. If there is an event going on, you may be able to get in through other gates, including the main gate.
