Access from old Pacific Highway, elevation of cache is around 140-145m ASL. You cannot access it from the freeway (illegal to stop on it anyway). Not suitable for young children (under 10) or the elderly / infirm because of short but steep climb, and proximity to cliffs. No specialist equpiment is required.
Mooney Views was my first ever cache placement, and first to be archived, just days after it's inception. It's now been resurrected by popular demand for your entertainment!
The area close to this cache affords great views of the F3 and Mooney Mooney Creek Bridge which is the highest road bridge in the southern hemisphere spanning 480mtrs in three sections ( 130m, 220m, 130m ) and stands 75m from the high water mark on the creek below. It was completed in 1986 and opened in December 1988.
Check out my cache by the bridge: Mooney Valley Micro: (visit link)
NOTE: Until further notice vehicluar access is only from the Calga Interchange end, the Pacific Highway is closed at Somersby.
