Wiltse Flats Nature Park Cache Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Skookum Bear: Cache Owner,

As you have not indicated that you have visited your cache location to replace it if it was missing, perform needed maintenance, or verify that it is still there within a reasonable amount of time, I am regretfully archiving the cache to clear it from the active cache database and open the area to new caching opportunities.

Please do not respond to this note by sending an email reply - your response will go to an unmonitored location and disappear into the ether instead of being sent to me. If you need to contact me regarding this cache, please do so using the link on my Profile Page

Thank you for your contribution to geocaching.

Geocache Description:

This cache was co-hidden by Fuzzywhip in the Wiltse Flats Nature Park.
Enjoy an easy walk all the way to the cache except the last few meters.
Feel free to go explore the rest of this park while you are here as well.
Since it is not that large it should only take you about 10 minutes.

My house was a stone throw away from here during the six years I lived in Penticton.
I have alot of good memories here so a cache seemed like a good way to share them.

You are looking for a small square Lock&Lock hidden under ambient cover.

- Initial Contents -
  • FTF PRIZE: 17g tumble polished Genuine Muggle Stone
(These are highly coveted M.D. exclusive signature items!)
  • The required stash notice, a log book and a short golf pencil
  • Unregistered 2005 Calgary geocoin (trackable on Calgary site)
  • Limitted 2005 VIGPS marmot geocoin (not trackable but rare)
  • 100g bag of ass't colored M.D. tumble polished beach glass
(Makes a great display or decorative gravel for fish bowls)
  • Another fine M.D. exclusive item, a custom geo-stereogram
(You have to stare at it a certain way to see the 3D image)
  • A 5g tumble polished genuine Muggle Stone up for trading
  • A tumble polished zebra & plume agate (for you rock hounds)
  • Two small zip bags of tumble polished BC red jasper from Victoria
  • A polished & capped snow quartz stone for a keychain or necklace
(one of many I collected from below the PENTICTON sign in 2005)
  • "I AM CANADIAN" lick-on tatoo (left over from Canada Day)
  • Laminated "BEWARE THE MUGGLES" card by: TheAlienWizard
  • M.D. signature CITO kit crammed into a 35mm film canister
  • Small bandaid in case you get an owie looking for the cache
  • A silica gel desicant pak that should be left inside the cache

I hope you enjoy the location and all the great swag stuffed into this cache.
Just remember to trade fairly and completely rehide the cache with due care.

I travel to Penticton about 2-3 times a year to visit friends & family here.
I'll restock the cache with signature items & TB's from the island when I do.

The original cache was replaced March 30th, 2008 by Fuzzywhip.
Here's another BIG THANKS for helping to co-maintain this cache!

Have fun & happy caching!
