Easy hide to bring your attention to a beautiful river that many have enjoyed for years. It rises from a multitude of springs and branches that come out north and west of Brookhaven and flows southeasterly through Pike and Walthall Counties, Washington Parish, LA, and empties into the Pearl River in St Tammany Parish. In History of Pike County, MS, the Bogue Chitto is referred to as "one of the most lovable and picturesque streams to be found anywhere in the South." It meanders its way over 100 miles past grand scenery including high ridges covered with majestic pine, oak, beech, magnolia and other valuable growth. Wildlife is abundant. Many MS and LA residents have known the Bogue Chitto through canoeing and tubing. If you have an anecdote about it please add to your log.
