This is the first of what we hope will be a series of caches themed around movies that have numbers in their titles. The Magnificent Seven, a 1960 MGM release, is Puzzler’s all-time favorite movie (so much so that his first born son is named after one of the characters in the film). It’s a western remake of Kurosawa’s classic, The Seven Samurai, and chronicles the quest of seven gunfighters to save a small Mexican border town from a band of ruthless outlaws.
The cache is located in Falk Park, just off I-94, in Oak Creek. Parking is available close to first waypoint. This multi-cache has 7 waypoints and a final. Each waypoint pays homage to one of the film’s main characters. The waypoint containers are varied and adapted to their environments. All waypoints are close to established trails, but the final requires a bit of bushwhacking. You will be walking less than a mile on flat trails. Due to the close proximity of some residences, we would recommend daylight searching only.
Only the last 3 digits of each waypoint need to be adjusted to reach the next stage. Therefore, only those digits are included at each waypoint. BEWARE: Calverra has been known to be less than trustworthy!
The final is a large ammo box which contains a video of the movie for the FTF and 20 bags containing 2 half dollars each. The $20 were the wages the gunfighters earned for saving the village. Please take only one bag if you choose to do so. Save something for future finders! Also included are some kid-friendly trading items. Be sure to push the red button inside the lid!
