Outside the Wire Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Photothiel: Well, the cache is definitely inside the teepee, but the container is gone. All good things must come to an end I guess. I will have to have another good look once the snow melts to be entirely sure.

I will endeavour to find another suitable location in this area for another exciting cache.

Geocache Description:

Parking is at the Essa Recreation Centre. Cache is a bit of a bush bash into the wooded area near the centre. It is heavily used by 2 and 4 footed muggles as well as being an extremely active beaver area. There is a creek nearby so the little ones will have to be watched closely. The cache is conveniently located close to the Angus gate of CFB Borden.

The cache is a small ammo can, painted black with a geocaching label placed on the side. When placed it contained 5 “Support our Troops” fridge magnets and 5 pins. I am an avid pin collector so I would like to see some new and different pins make their way through the cache. I will be replacing any of interest with the “Support our Troops” pins. This is also a great opportunity for troops visiting Borden to bring their coins or bugs and use this cache as a portal. There are many soldiers, sailors and airmen from across the country and the world here at Borden so you never know exactly where your trackables will end up. The area is also dog friendly and it is appreciated if you practice poop and scoop while you're there. I use this area to walk my own dog and not stepping in doggy doo would be nice. Keep an eye out for adolescent muggles, and if you're so inlcined, bringing a garbage bag and practcing CITO would help beautify this area.
