The coordinates above take you to the parking lot of the Lake DuBay Lions Park in downtown Knowlton. This Lions Club formed in 1980 and one of their first major projects was the revitalization of this park area, formerly a popular wayside along Highway 51. When the Highway was rebuilt as a four-lane structure, this wayside was abandoned. The old road bed remains under the parking lot area and can be seen extending beyond the park storage garage to the north. The Lions have continued to add on and upgrade the park over the years. The large, open shelter is where the parking area was for the old wayside. A playground area has been developed, as well as a footbridge for fisherman, a handicap accessible dock, volleyball courts and pickleball courts. It has become a very popular location for picnicking, fishing, class reunions, weddings, and many other events.
