I figured out just about where this one might be, using the coordinates, description, and Google Earth, and had it narrowed down to 50 square feet or so. I tried to find it last summer, but couldn't find it in all the thick grass. Today, I bought a metal detector and decided to try it out on this marker. Took me all of 30 seconds to find it! A little hoeing and digging and I had the mark uncovered. Sweet!

There's some concrete here that probably still has the benchmark on it, but it's so covered with grass and dirt that you'd really need a shovel or metal detector to find the thing. Had to log a no find.

- The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
- The X, Y, and Z were computed from the position and the ellipsoidal ht.
- The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
- The ellipsoidal height was determined by GPS observations and is referenced to NAD 83.
- The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
