Saw while caching in the area. Thanks!!!

Thanks to geomatrix for pointing this out on the way past.

Observed on the way to MOA.
Old Professor - Tipton, Mo.

Spotted while out caching today.

found as described.

First set of benchmarks - I've seen these many, many times!

Logging my first benchmark - since I work here it had to be my first "official" one.

Out caching in the area. I have been by this one many times.

This one showed up first and then I seen the stack as I drove by.

Found along with the stack, a daily sight when I head out for work in the morning.

Spotted while on my way to the Maplewood Community Center.

My second ever benchmark

Not hard to miss!

Looked to see if there were any benchmarks near my Poor farm cache TWISTED OAK and theres two I dont even have to leave the house for. Been by this land mark a million times almost.

Pressure holding steady.

Been by here a million times. Finally logging it

Just getting started in benchmarks. This was easy.

Easy find while in the area looking for a cache. Ramsey County Fair has been held here forever!

Spied these two benchmarks while on a CITO expedition nearby.

Found as described--I didn't know there are actually poor farms--I thought it was something our parents just told us so we'd be more thrifty.

Two official benchmarks in one shot--the tank to the right, and the smokestack to the left.

Many fond memories for working summers for Ramsey County Parks.

Believe me when I say it's there, I pass by it almost every day. Nice area, and a great landmark.

Documented History (by the NGS)

1/1/1934 by CGS (FIRST OBSERVED)
DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1934 (CAS) THIS STATION IS THE CENTER OF THE TALL, SILVER, STEEL WATER TANK AT THE RAMSEY COUNTY POOR FARM. THE TANK HAS A ROUND BOTTOM AND CONICAL TOP AND HAS A SMALL VENTILATOR AT THE CENTER OF THE TOP. IT IS ABOUT 100 FEET HIGH AND IS NOT VERY PROMINENT. IT WAS ERECTED ABOUT 1918. THE TANK IS ABOUT 35 FEET SOUTH OF THE HEATING PLANT AND ABOUT 50 FEET EAST OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE MAIN BUILDING OF THE POOR FARM. THE POOR FARM IS ON THE EAST SIDE OF WHITE BEAR AVENUE AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH FROST AVENUE, AND ABOUT 1/2 MILE NORTH OF THE CITY LIMITS OF ST. PAUL NEAR THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE CITY. THE TANK IS ABOUT 225 FEET EAST OF WHITE BEAR AVENUE AND ABOUT ON LINE WITH FROST AVENUE. THERE IS A PROMINENT RED BRICK STACK ABOUT 60 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE TANK.
