DESCRIBED BY HAWAII TERRITORIAL SURVEY 1940 (EOH) HIGH STEEL RADIO TOWER OF THE KGMB RADIO STATION IS LOCATED IN HONOLULU AT THE N SIDE OF KAPIOLANI BOULEVARD, ABOUT 2 MILES E OF ALOHA TOWER. TOWER HAS AN OCCULTING RED LIGHT ON TOP. TOWER IS PAINTED ALTERNATE RED AND WHITE BANDS.
1/1/1961 by CGS (MONUMENTED)
RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1961 (HJS) THE STATION WAS RECOVERED. IT IS LOCATED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF KAPIOLANI BLVD, ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF KAPIOLANI DRIVE-IN THEATER. THE STATION IS A SKELETON STEEL TOWER PAINTED IN ALTERNATE RED AND WHITE SECTIONS. IN LATER YEARS, THIS TOWER HAS BEEN RAISED BY THE ADDITION OF A TV MAST ON TOP.

RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1965 (DMW) STATION IS GONE. A NEW TOWER HAS BEEN BUILT IN A NEW LOCATION NEARBY.

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in December 1998. The horizontal coordinates are valid at the epoch date displayed above. The epoch date for horizontal control is a decimal equivalence of Year/Month/Day.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
