DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1930 (JHP) KGU WEST RADIO TOWER, STEEL, SKELETON, HEIGHT 187 FEET ABOVE MEAN SEA LEVEL.
1/1/1964 by CGS (MONUMENTED)
RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1964 (DGR) STATION WAS RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION. LOCATED IN HONOLULU AT INTERSECTION OF KAPIOLANI BLVD. AND SOUTH STREET, ON ROOF OF STAR BULLETIN BUILDING. STATION IS A 4-LEGGED, TAPERING, SKELETON STEEL STRUCTURE, PAINTED ALTERNATE RED AND WHITE. TOP OF TOWER IS 187 FEET ABOVE SEA LEVEL.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in December 1998. The horizontal coordinates are valid at the epoch date displayed above. The epoch date for horizontal control is a decimal equivalence of Year/Month/Day.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
