I can't imagine hunting caches without my ipad! The II is pretty much the same for caching as the I. We have a Delorme GPS and droid smartphone, but the phone is so hard to navigate on the screen vs. pad and it sucks down the battery. We keep the GPS with us for back up. If you've never used an ipad with Geocaching app to cache before, you should consider.
