Believe it not, caching with the iPhone is AWESOME! Using the geocaching.com application, you can view virtually the entire webpage for each cache. It's extremely helpful to have the description, recent logs, and hint readily available (without killing any trees!). I prefer to use the map feature (which I could do without the application using the google map) to the compass so I don't have an opinion on how well the compass actually works. The two reasons I won't give the iPhone five stars is one, the battery life (I'd say 3 hours max) because there's no way to change the battery or recharge without returning to the car; and two, because if you don't have cell service, you are lost (literally). But I think the good outweighs the bad, as long as your with someone with a "real" gps for the rough-ing it stuff where there's no service... I would highly recommend the iPhone for caching!
