GPS improved quite a bit over 3GS. Accuracy often reported as 16 ft by Geocaching app and Motion X app. Much, much better under tree cover.

It still gets a bit confused with buildings, but at least with the update to the app it can give you a degree of how confused.

With the Geocaching app, this is now my most useful caching device. I'm particularly glad to finally have a built-in compass on a GPSr. My Garmin is better at giving me a proper fix, and updates my position more frequently. But when I pair the Garmin with the iPhone4, they make a great team.

GPS is quite solid in normal situations, and the Geocaching app is flat out awesome. Having the app available while searching (in most non-remote areas) is invaluable. It's not as precise as many standalone GPS units, but hey...it's a phone! It also takes great pictures and awesome HD video.
