The geocaching app works SO well with my iPhone. I use it all the time to find geocaches. And the Find Nearby Geocaches feature is great for when I'm waiting for an appt. and have a bit of time to kill. I would highly recommend using an iPhone for your GPS unless you are out in the woods where you cannot get a phone signal. In that case, you are out of luck. But actually the GPS still works it's just that you cannot look at hints or desc. or anything else about the cache. I have just recently purchased an iPhone 5 and the GPS on it is absolutely amazing! It is SO accurate! I don't think I will need to use any other GPS for my geocaching. The only downside is that it sucks up your battery quite quickly so make sure you always have it plugged into the car charger while you are in between caches.
