The only downside is the size of the laptop. Well, also looking at the screen while driving (lol, not really). The best way to look to look for a local eatery or atm - even while out in the middle of the mountains.

Wow! Great mapping software for both Canada and USA. Good reception and quick acquistion of satellites. Worked perfectly with my laptop.

I never leave home without this little guy. I use Delorme's Street Atlas 2009 which intergrates nicely with the Earthmate. The downside of this device is that it takes a few minutes to aquire your location - much slower than a new full GPS handheld (like my Garmin). However, it does the job I need it to really easy. I load up my laptop will all the waypoints in GSAK, then export them to Street Atlas and this bugger will get me at close as I can while in my truck.
