Love this GPS. If you want a GPS that does paperless geocaching, has topo maps, has street level maps, and can quickly acquire satellites than buy this GPS. One of the best GPS out there. I have owned Garmin and Magellan in the past and this one is by far the best.

I paid $214 from Amazon, is worked well out of the box, but I'm not clear on which maps I need. There are a few choices and I want to research them before I spend my $40 certificate. I'll end up with the 1 year $30 unlimited downloads no doubt, and then I'll download like crazy. Used it today and we're 242 so yey! It's not hard to load gpx and loc files to it. I haven't messed with the maps yet, but after loading the latest pn maps it will route via car then hike so it really is great. 4/5 because you need windows to use topo 8.0. They give a coupon for 9.0 for $10.00. 5/5 when it supports Mac. You can use Mac to add gpx one at a time, but must go to windows to load hundreds of geocaches en bloc. Someone on Amazon said you can't do multicaches and that's not true. you can add a waypoint, then edit it to reflect the new cache site, then goto.

Have only owned it for a week now. Found my first cache with it: Lake Norman Monster. So far so good. Wish it had a compass...more $$ for the PN-40. Still would have been worth the extra money..dang the budget. Battery life is very good. Get satellites quickly. Mostly intuitive..but I'm still learning.
