This is another in a long line of great GPS devices from Delorme. I have used them from the original Street Atlas software with the original earthmate powered by batteries and connected to my laptop with the serial port (yes, before USB), way before any others got into usefull civilian GPS applications. I am just now starting with geocaching, but armed with my latest trusty Delorme device, I'm sure to enjoy trouble free and very accurate searching.

This unit rates right there along with the Garmin GPSMAP 60CSX for accuracy. It holds the GPS signal in very dense cover. This unit is geared for geocaching and directly supports "pocket caches". Since it uses the latest version of Delorme Topo North America, the map displays on the Earthmate PN-60 are fantastic. This is the perfect unit for geocaching and the battery life is excellent.

Biggest improvement is battery life but there are several minor sticking points I had with the PN-40 that have simply gone away with the PN-60. It's quick at start up and shut down, locates itself in a hurry ... it's just a great unit. Good job DeLorme!!
