This one has more features than my Garmin, and for less money. A direct comparison of the two side-by-side shows that they both get almost identical coordinates at any given time. The DeLorme usually computes a position error a couple of feet smaller than the Garmin. It's a little less intuitive to use, but I'm getting used to it. So far, I like it.
I'm using this as my primary unit for geocaching because it supports paperless, but I still use my Garmin for more scientific work such as geotagging photographs and building .KML files for use with Google Earth.
My only complaint is that it is a battery hog.
