Works great as a GPS, nice to have the phone built in to it. Would be better if it came with topo maps pre-loaded rather than purchased seperately and hacked in.

I LOVE my Garminfone! I used to use a G1 and it was always a phone that could do GPS. But the Garminfone is a full function GPS as well as a full function phone. I used to think I should buy a GPSr for caching, but after buying and returning several, I have realized the phone is more accurate and more convenient. I use C:geo as my primary application. It's great to not need to plan things out, not need to constantly update the GPSr with pocket queries, etc. Biggest downside is it relies on a data connection to access caches. But C:geo allows you to save caches to the phone for offline use... so if you are heading into an area with poor cell coverage, you will have to plan ahead.

Garmin Asus A50 nuvifone. This is now my primary caching device i have foung 25 caches with it so far and is as good as it gets for paperless caching extreemly quick lock and with free caching apps from android market makes for everything you could want for caching. Also has compass 3 axis mode with free app. battery life is around 4-6 hours in caching the latter if you use screen timeout and more can be achieved if you exit caching after a find. comes with in car kit so charging between caches is a breeze. photos can be geo tagged also compatible with wherigo caches using apps from android market. as a phone i havent found a floor as yet texting is great with qwerty key board and volumes are excellent for those of us who work in heavy industry as this is the first phone i can here in the middle of the factory. to sum up will cover your caching and phone needs i have 1gb data per month and have not gone close to exceding limit downloading caches and apps. cheers blue_trax
