Pros: - Cheap. - Waterproof (Long enough for you to fish it out [:)]) - Simple to learn. - Most basic features covered. - Quick satellite lock. - Takes standard AA batteries. Good battery life, even on rechargables. Cons: - No maps - Uses older serial technology for data transfer - No internal compass (It doesn't know which way you are facing until you move - Not as quick to use as a GPS with a control pad or joystick Conclusion: A good First GPS. Satisfies your GPS needs until you figure out what you really want.

It's not too expensive, but it's not too accurate either. Good for starting out... hoping to upgrade with tax returns... As a side note, I increased my rating of this one by two stars because of an event that happened recently. In my rush to hurry home from a cache, I left my GPSr on top of my car... I didn't realize it until I heard it roll across the top and fall while I was driving. My wife asked what that was, my son said "Your GPS!" I slammed on the brakes and turned around to go back to see what made the noise. Sure enough, there is my GPS laying in the road. I got out and picked it up gingerly to see how much damage it sustained. There were only a few small scrapes on it, no damage to the screen. I pushed the power button, and it turned on just fine. I went out the next day, and found two caches right away, so I know there is no damage to the circuitry. This is a definate advantage.

Great 1st GPS, got many FTF's with this, accurancy is great. With a serial cable that is available ( dunno why people cannot get hold of it, its easy to find), a very good download and run GPSr. Who needs maps, this make things more fun,

I love this GPS. It is so easy to learn and simple to use. It's my first GPS, so I might be biased, but I really enjoy it.

for what it is, it gets the job done. having to manually punch in the cords does get a little out of control, but that is half the fun.. very nice starter unit.
