Pros: Great battery life, quick lock, geocache 'find' feature, small size Cons: Map data is expensive, no paperless geocaching, perennial eTrex gasket problems

This is our first GPS, and we're pleased with it, and still learning.

I really like my GPS. It is great for a beginner both for its functions and its price. I wish it had a few more features such as temp. or a two way radio. All in all a good unit.

So far I have had an excellent experience with my HCx. The waterproof function is perfect for geocaching in all seasons, especially in the north. The altimetre has helped me many times flying as a bush pilot, along with predicting weather through pressure changes. A great buy!
