I love it. I had a Colorado, and loved it too, but the touchscreen is so much easier to type in addresses.

It was difficult for me to give up on my trusty 60CSx, but after a week of learning, I can now say the Oregon is every bit as good as the 60. I love it! The battery life seems to be shorter on the Oregon and the screen isn't as vibrant as the 60 (especially in the direct sunlight), but overall it is the better unit. I'll be recommending it from now on. If I were to do it over again I would skip the "t" part and just buy a standard 450. Living in the fairly level Mid-West makes the TOPO feature less important than I thought it would be. I'm giving it a 4.5 rating.

Had an eTrex Vista for my first GPS and this obviously blows it out of the water. I have had this unit for 2 days and I already have an excellent understanding of all features and have customized a few different profiles, adding to the ease of its use. Geocaching.com program on GPS unit is great as well....Only complaint so far....The route calculator struggles with providing directions...on or off road....often.

I owned an eXplorist 500 before I got this. The 500 had only one advantage - bright light visibility. The Oregon 450 ROCKS!! It's pricey and for the price, one would anticipate the best possible view in all conditions. In bright sunlight, I miss the eXplorist 500's LCD. Built in software is great. Unit offers "profiles" and the Geocaching "profile" offers a nice balance of features. Do you NEED this King Kong priced unit for Geocaching, no. Buy it and you'll find yourself using for a lot more than caching only. The eXplorist 500 was a caching only device.
