cost £16 from a charity shop. Does the job if a bit bulky

nice with the colour maps, but the batteries last an hour and a half and you need 6. Heavy and bulky. I does know to auto go to power when plugged in to the car, and when unplugged it lets you know it will shut off if you don't push a button. Can't upload waypoints like my other Gamin from this site. Not too bad, but outdated for sure.

Upgradable sotware and maps. Really nice automotive GPS if expensive compaired to modern equalavents. Eats eight double A batteries in two hours when on internal power. Usable for Geocaching if you can afford to feed it batteries.

Got the first colormap with latest firmware. No routing, does not like temperature over 25°C, a lot of freeze or bug. I use it for moving map but nothing more.

It has now been replaced with a Nuvi 5000 as it no longer reads its map card. Major hang ups would be the stupidity of garmin using serial when USB was mass market and those ignorant memory cards when SD were already industry standards
