This is a fantastic GPSr for the money (about $250 online). Upgrading from a Garmin EtrexH, it is a huge difference. The 3 point compass is nice, the touch screen is a lot better than awkwardly using buttons on these devices, the information that is included on each screen as you page through is well thought out, and the paperless caching is the primary reason for the purchase. Being able to download .gpx files and having the information all on the GPSr was fantastic. No more printouts to carry around or time spent trying to enter coordinates by hand.
The only thing that would make this a full 5 is slightly better maps. While it's not a big issue, the maps in the Sierra are much nicer looking, but add a lot to the pricetag. The ability to download directly to the GPSr would be nice as well, but I'm not sure it's something I can pin on Lowrance, and again it's not a big issue.
The Endura line seems to be about the least expensive paperless GPSrs and I am extremely pleased wi
