I had this device for a few years, but it seemed to bug out when ever I tried to load from Ozy explorer, if I remember the name correctly. The guys at Lowrance were great and very helpful, I think I may have got 2 refurbished units from them when my first died. The problem was always the same. The other draw back was the short battery life and the fact that the battery compartment was not sealed. This model also predated WAAS and so it was not compatible. All that being said, it was a great unit for one of the first and did everything I need it to do. I have not owned a GPS in a long time and now I'm waiting for the Garmin GPS 60csx. If you can find this old unit lying around I think you should get for the durability of the unit.

It has been a great work horse for me. I use it daily for marking boring locations and rough geologic mapping.

We 'inherited' this from my dad - it's one of the first handheld GPS devices. No fancy bells or whistles but it is extremely dependable. It would be nice if the batteries lasted longer.

good gps. had it for awhile. lost an old garmin yrs. ago in the bottom of a lake(to bad they don't float). Couldn't be w/o one so I went and bought this one about 10yrs ago with no idea about geocaching. But the thing still works and I am able to find caches. Not the most detailed that I've seen on the market and not in color but the thing is very easy to operate and figure out. Tried other peoples gps and don't think that they are as easy to operate as mine. Wish ot was more pc friendly but for as old as it is I can't ask for more. Gotten my moneys worth out of it.
