I got a great price on the Crossover as a "Trade In" straight from Magellan when my old Sport Trak died. However, it took seven weeks of fighting with Customer (non)Support to get the new unit delivered. I really like the dual function. I have only GeoCached twice with it and both times it worked as well as any hand held unit I've had experience with. The street routing function is awesome.

What I have is the Magellan Roadmate 2000, but this appears to be the closest on the list. I like the larger display and touch-screen better than my old (Garmin) GPS, but it gets a little pig-headed if you want to take a route other than the one proffered. As far as geocaching, it lacks features such as being able to input Lat/Lon so it can point to (and show distance to) the destination.

My version is the 2200T-NA upgraded for a fee to Crossover Platform. I like that freedom to interchange Waypoints and Addresses between Outdoor/Veh Nav. app. The unit is very responsive when using Detailed maps (Topo Canada and USA). In the Outdoor/Marine app the unit is stuck on WGS84 and I believe it may also be using "True North" as compared with other units. It has a nice compass screen that will display sun/moon position and moon phase providing they are above the horizon. It does not show the almanac for Hunting/fishing or Sun/Moon. When a route is active you can either use the Map screen, Compass Screen or Road Nav screen to navigate to the target. I give it a 3 only because Magellan didn't follow through and add a Geocaching app as on the eXplorist series. It also would have been nice to be able to swap out the battery as in the other Handheld units. Ezeechair.
